It gives you detailed ship information including photographs. You are privy to detailed voyage information - including route history, destination and estimated time of arrival at the destination.

You can recreate and plot journeys on dates you select with a feature called "Playback". Using filters you can select only the ship types you wish to track. You can search for specific ships by name and even watch the progress of ships on Google Earth using their "Sail Me" simulator.
